The National Sling Library

Our national sling library is a fabulous and unique resource. There is no other country in the world with a country-wide sling library! There are 150 + slings currently in the National Library, with various brands of stretchy wrap, woven wrap, ring sling, mei tai and soft structured carrier (SSC).

You can hire slings from our National Sling Library and try them out for 1 month, before making the decision to buy one yourself.

There is rental fee for slings, for a 1 month period.

  • 1 sling costs €20

  • 2 slings costs €30

This fees covers DPD delievery and collection.

All Babywearing Ireland funds are invested in the day to day expenses of BWI, as well as updating our library stock so that we can respond to demand for various carriers.

BWI is always working hard to keep the selection of slings in the BWI National Sling Library up-to-date. We only carry slings that are currently available in Ireland or Europe.

Rental Steps

Please note that BWI is 100% volunteer run, we will approve account creation and respond to queries ASAP.

  1. Go www.babywearingireland.ie

  2. Select the National Library tab.

  3. Scroll down to find the National Library button

  4. This brings you to our new MyTurn Rental app

  5. Create an account. Follow the steps entering your name address, payment method etc

  6. Once our admin team has approved your account creation, you can then proceed to browse our selection & reserve your slings.

  7. The fee for sling rental for a 1 month period is

    1 sling costs €20

    2 slings costs €30

  8. The slings will be delivered to you by DPD

  9. At the end of your rental period the slings will be collected by DPD.
